Swan Solutions’ Unified Management Solution implemented by manufacturing giant

Swan Solutions has announced implementation of unified management solution at a leading manufacturing company. The US$2-billion engineering conglomerate is a pioneer in designing, manufacturing and marketing products related to power generation, transmission and distribution (T&D). With the new deployment, its management can now easily handle its network infrastructure spread across various countries and be assured of business continuity with a single-point network monitoring.

The manufacturing company wanted to upgrade its network infrastructure to meet an increasing demand for scalability, performance and reliability. The previous solution didn’t allow a single-point network monitoring, and switches could not be remotely controlled. Its management required a unified management solution to handle its network infrastructure. It also desired higher network redundancy and business continuity.
Abhijit Salvi, Head Solutions, Swan Solutions, said, “Enterprises are often advised to use less than 40 per cent of their network. An important feature of this implementation is its ability to notify the management when their network-use crosses 60 per cent threshold. This way, risks can be foreseen in advance, network outages are completely avoided, and enterprises can take caution against downtime.” See more

According to a report released by UBS brokerage, the proportion of the mobile phone operator’s 3G sites increased to 33.3% of the total in the quarter ended March 2015, from 22.6% a year earlier.
Airtel 3G services triggered an 84-per cent growth in data consumption in FY15 from a year earlier. After the telco spent billions of dollars buying high-speed data spectrum in the 2010 and subsequent auctions, less than 9% of its subscribers use 3G services… See more
