HCL Technologies and CSC enter into strategic partnership

HCL Technologies(NSE:HCLTECH) has reportedly formed a strategic partnership to address the substantial market opportunity created by the need for enterprise clients to modernize their applications and transition to the cloud.

HCL and CSC(NYSE:CSC) will create a world-class application modernization delivery network to enable enterprises to shift from legacy technologies to a cloud-enabled platform. The first delivery centres will be launched in Bangalore and Chennai. These delivery centres will lower the risks and costs for clients transitioning to the cloud. The joint application modernization offering will be enhanced with vertical-specific initiatives starting with banking and financial services through the creation of a banking centre of excellence. The partnership will be standardizing the delivery of modernized applications and enable them to be brokered onto any cloud environment, using platforms such as CSC’s ServiceMesh.

HCL launches “ME Champ”, Exclusive Tablet for Kids

HCL launches To enhance the learning experience of kids with infotainment content across various categories such as Games, Education, Books and TV, HCL Infosystemhas announced the launch of its new tablet “ME Champ” exclusively targeted at kids between 3 and 12 years of age. This product launch is expected to take learning to the next level.

ME Champ tablet comes pre-loaded with content for kids, including exercises in art, geography, history, language and mathematics. The device also offers free access to more than 500 Apps.

HCL Infosystems has announced the awarding of a contract from the Chhattisgarh Infotech & Biotech Promotion Society (CHiPS). HCL Infosystems has been selected for the Government of Chhattisgarh project - Free Distribution of Laptops to final year engineering and medical students of the Government-aided and private colleges across the state. The project is part of the Chhattisgarh Yuva Suchna Kranti Yojana started by the Chhattisgarh State Government with special initiative of Hon. Chief Minister of ChhattisgarhDr Raman Singh, and will benefit the final year Engineering and Medical students during the year 2013.

This is the first phase of the project, where HCL Infosystems is supplying 14,000 laptops to the students in different districts comprising of 51 colleges across Chhattisgarh State.

HCL Technologies announces Q3 Financial Results

HCL Technologies announces Q3 Financial Results

HCL Technologies has announced its third-quarter fiscal report. As per the financial results, during the 12 months’ period ended 31st March, 2013, the company  revenues have increased by 27% YoY (INR),  while the earnings per share have grown 74% YoY (INR).

The company has achieved a net income of Rs.1,040 crore which is up by 72.6% YoY. The revenue received is up by 23.2 %, i.e. Rs.6,425 crore, along with the dividend achievement of 2.0 per share. The GAAP EPS (Diluted) is at US$1.07 which has gone up 60.4% YoY.

Simmtronics Semiconductors has joined hands with HCL’s Digilife Distribution and Marketing Services (DDMS).

Under this arrangement, DDMS will distribute Simmtronics tablets in South and East India, thereby reaching the distribution beyond tier-I cities. Digilife will be responsible for distribution of the Simmtronics tablets to all LFRs, Regional Organized Trade accounts, Teleshopping Channels  and Chain Stores across India. Orders from the government will also be targeted and addressed. Through this tie-up, Simmtronics is aiming at an additional turnover of Rs.300 crore and 6 lakh tablets in the year 2013.
