Reliance Jio may acquire wireless infrastructure assets from RCOMReliance Jio Infocomm Limited (“RJIL”) has signed a definitive agreement for the acquisition of specified assets of Reliance Communications Limited (“RCOM”) and its affiliates.

The acquisition is subject to receipt of requisite approvals from the Governmental and regulatory authorities, consents from all lenders, release of all encumbrances on the said assets and other conditions precedent. The consideration is payable on completion and is subject to adjustments as specified in the agreement.

An asset monetization process for RCOM assets was mandated by the lenders of RCOM, who appointed SBI Capital Markets Limited to run the process. RCOM & Global Cloud Xchange names its SVP, Global Product Management


Reliance Communications (RCOM) and its subsidiary, Global Cloud Xchange (GCX), has appointed Braham Singh as Senior Vice-President, Global Product Management. He will have overall responsibility for the global product portfolio across RCOM India Enterprise and GCX. In addition, he will also manage the company’s National Long Distance (NLD) and Data Center businesses.
Singh has over 30 years of telecom experience, most recently as Vice-President & Senior Advisor for International Business at Hutchison Global Communications (HGC). He also served as head of the company’s OTT Services, where he was instrumental in the development of HGC’s global infrastructure sales, including that for data centers, content delivery network, cloud and cloud connectivity services. RCOM announces deployment of Cloud Xchange Nodes in 5 Cities


Reliance Communications has announced the deployment of Cloud Xchange (Cloud X) nodes in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

“We will achieve full deployment of our Next-Generation content and Cloud Delivery Network by the end of this year, with – what is a first in India – five fully-operational Cloud Xchange points. These Cloud Xchange nodes can help government departments access 240 times the amount of compute power currently available in Government data centers, and over six times the high-speed storage currently available in India,” said Reliance Group Chairman Anil Dhirubhai Ambani.

Reliance Jio Infocomm, Ascend Telecom sign pact for tower sharing

According to the latest update, RJIL, a telecom arm of Reliance Industries, has signed a strategic alliance with mobile tower company Ascend Telecom Infrastructure for the development of 4G network. Under this agreement, the total towers available will reach to about 1,92,500.

Earlier, RJIL already has an agreement with Bharti Airtel, RCom and Viom Network to utilize their infrastructure for 4G development.

According to Sanjay Mashruwala, Managing Director, Reliance Jio Infocomm, “Our partnership with Ascend Telecom is in continuation of our efforts to forge a strategic partnership with key tower infrastructure companies to build a formidable nationwide network.”

Presently, Ascend has over 4,500 mobile towers across the country. The company is getting the capital back from investor firms, including New Silk Route Growth Capital, IL&FS and the TVS Group.It is expected that the company will launch 4G services somewhere around the July – September quarter.
