Wireline Services to fuel Vodafone’s growth in India

Vodafone Business Services (VBS) has unveiled its venture into wireline services with a suite of offerings for businesses for its growth in India. With this introduction, VBS is targeting to achieve 20% of its enterprise revenue coming from wireline services over the next five years.

Vodafone’s wireline services infrastructure comprises of 120,000 km of fiber across the country, over 350 PoPs across 130 cities and an ISO 27001-certified Network Operations Centre (NOC) for 24×7 performance management.

Naveen Chopra, Director – Vodafone Business Services, said, “Having built a robust infrastructure over the last three years, we are now looking at wireline services as a key revenue driver for Vodafone Business Services. With our suite of offerings in this space, we are now a total communication services provider in the true sense. This is going to be one of our strategic priorities at VBS and we are expecting that it will contribute over 20% towards our enterprise revenues over the next five years.”

The wireline services suite is a part of the total communication solutions, over and above the  mobility and M2M services.

Over 10,000 students across India have joined forces to unleash their creativity at theMicrosoft Student AppFest, a unique coding event enabling students from colleges of all sizes and stature to develop their “dream app” ideas alongside professional developers using the latest Microsoft technologies.

Landing in 54 key hubs in 45 key cities across 18 states of India, the reverberations of the day-long coding fest were felt across the country with each state hosting a bustling hands-on workshop run by a total of 150 Microsoft Student Partners on-call to give students a first-hand app development experience.

Google remains India’s Most Trusted for the third year in a row, but it is noteworthy that the gap with the second-ranked Facebook is a miniscule 3%. An analysis of the All India Brand Trust (AIBT) ranks shows that Google (All India rank 44) fell

13 ranks and Facebook (All India rank 48) gained 17 ranks to bridge the gap. Yahoo still stood as the third Most Trusted Internet brand despite its 62-rank fall in the All India Brand Trust rank. Google’s Orkut steadied at the fourth rank despite a significant fall in daily visitors from India. Ebay follows as India’s fifth Most Trusted Internet brand with a very small difference in BTI from the previous. The top six of the last year are repeated in the same order this year as well.

This year’s research was conducted in 16 cities generating 19,000 unique brands across 211 categories. Trust Research Advisory is a part of the Comniscient Group, a group of India’s largest non-advertising-based communication businesses.
