FUJIFILM’s first-ever TV Commercial

FUJIFILM's first-ever TV Commercial

FUJIFILM India has entered the Indian electronic ad space. The company has released its first-ever Television commercial (TVC) in the country, featuring Fujifilm’s latest digital camera with a super zoom – S 3300.

Fujifilm is now focussing on actively engaging the Indian audiences through an aggressive ad campaign across various TV channels.  Shot in Thailand, the ad is done aesthetically. It showcases the stunning 26x zoom, Smile&Shoot and HD Movie Recording features of S 3300 through an interesting concept.

The company’s move to advertise on TV stems from its objective to change the perception of Indian consumers about Fujifilm. The company specializes in digital cameras, besides photofilm products. With this TVC and subsequent ads in the campaign, which will be aired on multiple channels, Fujifilm wishes to break the previous perception about the brand. The total marketing spend on this campaign is about Rs.20 crore. To support the TVC campaign and make its presence felt, Fujifilm will also deploy a 360-degree approach including a strong presence to be felt across Print, Outdoor, Radio and Digital mediums.

According to K. Tanaka, Managing Director, Fujifilm, “Fujifilm’s effort is to always bring the best product and technology for our consumers, here in India. It is equally important that we communicate about our brand in a more engaging and entertaining manner. Hence, we have decided to advertise in the electronic medium. Our first television commercial has a refreshing appeal and displays a stylish camera with amazing features in a beautiful manner. We are sure it will break the clutter and people will like it and associate Fujifilm with the sleek and cool image that the ad portrays.”

FUJIFILM wishes to tap the Indian markets during the camera industry’s peak season by complementing its ad campaign in above-the-line (ATL) media with a parallel below-the-line (BTL) promotional effort too.

High Recycling Marks for Xerox’s Digital Color Printing Systems

High Recycling Marks for Xerox's Digital Color Printing Systems

Xerox has received “good de-inkability” certifications for their digital color production systems from the International Association of the Deinking Industry (INGEDE). The ratings were given to the Xerox iGen4 Press, 700 Digital Color Press and Color 800/1000 Presses.

INGEDE, an association made up of leading European manufacturers and paper mills, conducts a widely accepted, standardized test to identify the types of printed paper products that have the best recyclability when they are deinked.

The “good de-inkability” rating means the production systems produced high scores, more than 90 out of 100, in the evaluation of five parameters – luminosity, color, cleanliness, ink elimination and filtrate darkening. Deinking refers to the removal of ultraviolet and electron beam printing inks – an important step in the paper recycling process. More crucial in the production of graphic paper, which requires high paper quality, inks that are not deinkable spoil the recycling process by either reducing the brightness of the pulp or by leaving ink specks on the recycled paper.

A sustainable digital print solution that utilizes good deinking products can offer print providers a more versatile and enhanced printing performance.  Xerox and Fuji Xerox keep abreast of issues and trends in the printing industry and ensure that their products are sustainable throughout the total life cycle.

Fujitsu introduces First Thin Clients with Power over Ethernet

Fujitsu introduces First Thin Clients with Power over Ethernet

Fujitsu has announced the new FUTRO S700 and FUTRO S900 thin clients, the first Fujitsu thin clients to use innovative and eco-friendly Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology. Despite drawing only a trickle of power over Ethernet networks, the FUTRO S700 and FUTRO S900 are among the most powerful thin clients available today, boasting up to six times enhanced performance over previous models.

Fujitsu is taking Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology from its pioneering Zero Client line to introduce the technology to its thin client line. Offering both power and Ethernet via a single cable for increased flexibility and connectivity, PoE technology requires very low power consumption, benefiting both the environment and companies’ bottom lines. Thin clients can also be connected to a traditional electrical outlet if preferred. Rollouts and power requirements alike are simplified since the units need only one cable for combined connectivity and power.

The new Fujitsu FUTRO models also provide added flexibility and convenience. Up to four displays can be connected to the FUTRO S900 thanks to an additional graphics card, making it ideal for environments where operators need multiple screens. System performance is enhanced with two memory slots for increased local performance, while both models feature integrated WLAN for improved connectivity.

The thin clients are even able to provide the processing capabilities to cope with rendering and performance-intensive 3D modeling: the Fujitsu models are among the first to introduce support for DirectX11 graphics technology.

Rajat Kakar, Vice President Workplace Systems at Fujitsu Technology Solutions says: “Thin clients are an important component of today’s efficient, virtualized workplace. For companies ready to take advantage of the cost and performance benefits of virtual desktops or server based computing, the Fujitsu FUTRO S700 and S900 models make the transition easy.”
